In 2004, I happened to listen to Chilly Gonzales' solo piano compositions. From that moment on, Chilly’s music has never stopped to resonate inside me.
I didn't hear just the piano; I could hear percussions, strings, thematic variations and I found myself unintentionally arranging the Canadian composer's pieces in my mind.

Thanks to the precious help of the pianist Claudio Vignali, I was able to put on paper what, until then, were just suggestions and imagined sounds.

In my sub-conscience, my arrangement choices were moved by the desire to contrast the "fullness of modern music" through a metaphorical and sound void that would embrace all the things that my artistic career has allowed me to live.
A void full of music and with no genre boundaries, experienced as an infinite sound potential.

Finally, Gabriele Evangelista joined us. Thanks to his talent and great sensitivity, Gabriele was able to immerse himself in the musical meaning of the project.

Recorded at Deposito Zero Studios on a winter afternoon, together with Claudio and Gabriele, and embellished with Gionata Costa's cellos and producer Mattia Dallara's sound incursions, my first recorded work as a leader will be published by Encore Music the 15th of november 2022.

Marco Frattini's project "Empty Music" has been selected by JazzItAbroad and Italia Music Export and will tour Europe in December 2022.
